Seven products and services won GOOD DESIGN AWARD

KOKUYO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka / President: Hidekuni Kuroda) announces that THE CAMPUS FLATS TOGOSHI, a living experiment rental housing and community hub designed by KOKUYO, has won the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2024 BEST 100 at the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2024, sponsored by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, and six of the KOKUYO Group's products and services won GOOD DESIGN AWARD.

■ THE CAMPUS FLATS TOGOSHI living experiment rental housing and community hub

This is KOKUYO's first rental housing site based on the concept of "prototyping lifestyles," where residents can try out things they have always wanted. Utilizing the company dormitory stock, KOKUYO has launched and is operating a rental housing model that balances the self-actualization of residents with gentle connections to the local community, with a view to a future in which lifestyles will become more diverse.

<GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2024>

■ ACTIVE FURNITURE PROJECT at AOAA displaying customized furniture to support co-creation activities among citizens

The former site of the art shop at the Aichi Arts Center has been reborn as a place to support co-creation activities among citizens. Using the three elements--plywood with uniformly pitched holes, PP bands, and special jigs--the original furniture can be freely updated as one sees fit. The aim is to make the public facility a more public place, open to citizens.

■ KOKUYODOORS, a hub for promoting the charm of Japanese stationery

A store directly managed by KOKUYO with the concept of being a "door" through which customers can encounter the charm of Japanese stationery. Located at Haneda Airport, the gateway from and to Japan, the store independently plans and develops spaces, experiences, exhibits, and original products that allow customers to intuitively feel the uniqueness of Japanese stationery, which is designed with a focus on usability and down to the smallest detail.

■ YOKOKU Laboratory, vision-driven research and design lab

A laboratory engaging in research and social implementation aimed at KOKUYO's future scenario of a self-directed, collaborative society. It consists of research to explore indications of the future society, prototyping to materialize the future society ourselves, and empowerment to increase the number of like-minded people who share our vision. It is an open platform for exploration and implementation by people with foresight (yokoku) of the future they want, rather than bystanders who make predictions from afar.

■ RAE desktop organizer

The Grand Prix winner of the KOKUYO DESIGN AWARD 2021 has been commercialized. Rather than simply commercializing it as is, the paper scraps from products, such as Campus Notebook, produced by KOKUYO have been used to produce recycled paper, breathing new life into the product as a desktop organizer.

■ Kaunet Loopa and Kaunet Loopla environmentally conscious activities

Loopa is a recycling service that collects paper resources generated from offices such as paper cups, paper cartons, and confidential documents, and sells the recycled products, while Loopla collects plastic resources generated from offices such as clear folders, and sells the recycled products.

■ VaMoS counter table

A counter table that can flexibly adapt to changes at government offices due to the digital transformation of local governments. It can be transformed from a face-to-face counter into a table for consultations and meetings. By arranging its parts, it can be adapted to a variety of uses and layouts.
