First KOKUYO Stationery Pop-up Shop Opened in India

More than 800 parties shopped during the seven-day period

KOKUYO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka / President: Hidekuni Kuroda) announces that it opened its first Pop-up Shop in India for customers to encounter KOKUYO stationery from Japan and original stationery from China, which has been especially popular with Chinese students, at the R CITY shopping mall in Mumbai from May 6 through May 12, 2024. More than 800 parties shopped during the seven-day period.

With great enthusiasm for studying among Indian students, KOKUYO believes that offering value-added stationery with functionality and design, as well as Japanese study methods, will make studying more enjoyable and efficient for students.

While it had been possible to purchase selected products at the KOKUYO Official Global Online Store (https://www.kokuyostore.com/), which opened in September 2022, there were limited opportunities to experience KOKUYO stationery in India until now. The new Pop-up Shop opened in R CITY, a popular shopping mall among young people, and offered approximately 380 products including binders and notebooks made in collaboration with TYAKASHA, an original designer brand from Shanghai, as well as the Tool Pencase "Piiip" series and "Mark+" color highlighters, which are popular in Japan.

A larger than expected number of customers who purchased these products were familiar with KOKUYO and the Campus brand, indicating the high level of recognition through KOKUYO Camlin. Sales were also strong, and this along with other factors made KOKUYO's first Pop-up Shop in India a success.

Opportunity for students, parents and children, and other customers to experience value-added stationery

An approach centered on official social media resulted in many customers visiting the Pop-up Shop. Many customers visited after work and school due to the nature of shopping malls in Mumbai, which are busy from evening to night, and commented that they would use the stationery for studying at school or for work.

Original products from China such as "a little special series" and "Pastel Cookie Sora" were big hits!

The "a little special" series and "Pastel Cookie Sora" series were popular, and value-added stationery that combines design and functionality, such as scissors and binders in various shapes and color variations not usually seen in India, appeared to be well received.
