First KOKUYO Stationery Pop-up Shop to Open in India
Offering approximately 380 products, including stationery for students
KOKUYO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka / President: Hidekuni Kuroda) announces that it will open its first Pop-up Shop in India for customers to encounter KOKUYO stationery from Japan and original stationery from China, which has been especially popular with Chinese students, at the R CITY shopping mall in Mumbai from May 6 through May 12, 2024.

As the value-added stationery market expands due to heightening needs for self-expression via channels such as social media, KOKUYO's stationery business aims to capture the market by enhancing our points of contact with customers and expand our business domains not only in Japan but also globally.
In 2022, we opened the Campus STYLE Metro City Store, a directly managed store in Shanghai, China, and on April 26, 2024, we will also open a second Campus STYLE Hall of the Sun Store in the city. KOKUYO HAKU Shanghai 2023, held last year for the first time in two years, was attended by a record-breaking 9,200 visitors, reflecting the growing popularity of our stationery products, especially among students.
Furthermore, we opened Pop-up Shops in Malaysia in March and June 2023 and in Thailand in October 2023, which received a large number of customer visits, demonstrating the spread of KOKUYO stationery in Southeast Asia as well.
With great enthusiasm for studying among Indian students, KOKUYO believes that offering value-added stationery with functionality and design, as well as Japanese study methods, will make studying more enjoyable and efficient for students.
While it had been possible to purchase selected products at KOKUYO's global e-commerce store, which opened in September 2022, there were limited opportunities to experience these products in India. The new Pop-up Shop will be opened in R CITY, a popular shopping mall among young people, and offer approximately 380 products including binders and notebooks made in collaboration with TYAKASHA, an original designer brand from Shanghai, as well as the Tool Pencase "Piiip" series and "Mark+" color highlighters, which are popular in Japan.
KOKUYO will strive to address the needs of our customers' work, learning, and living on a global scale by further enhancing our points of contact with customers.
1. Examples of available products
(1) TYAKASHA series
An original series offered in China, created in collaboration with an apparel brand from Shanghai. The series is popular for its vivid color variations and cute character.
(2) Pencase Piiip Lite
A very popular pen case in Japan, designed to showcase the user's favorite stationery. The Lite series in soft colors comes in two types: a standard type and a slim type.
(3) Mark+ Color Highlighters
An innovative highlighter that combines two shades of one color in a single marker. It keeps the notebook neatly organized.
