Second KOKUYO Stationery "Campus STYLE" Directly Managed Store to Open in Shanghai, China on April 26

KOKUYO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka / President: Hidekuni Kuroda) announces that its Chinese subsidiary KOKUYO Commerce (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. ("KOKUYO Commerce") will open its second "Campus STYLE" directly managed store for KOKUYO stationery in "Hall of the Sun" shopping center in Shanghai on Friday April 26, 2024.
As the value-added stationery market expands due to heightening needs for self-expression via social media, KOKUYO's stationery business aims to capture the market by enhancing our points of contact with customers and expand our business domains not only in Japan but also globally. Japanese stationery is gaining popularity in the Chinese stationery market, especially among students, thanks to its design and exceptional functionality.
In 2005, we established a Chinese subsidiary to develop stationery products especially for students. In July 2022, we opened the Campus STYLE Metro City Store, our first directly managed store, in Shanghai, which has served a total of approximately 200,000 customers to date. In addition, we have been holding the stationery event KOKUYO HAKU SHANGHAI since 2018. A total of 9,200 customers came to the event last year, and the atmosphere was so great that some products sold out within the first five minutes.
The Campus STYLE Hall of the Sun Store will open at a mall facility in a bedroom community located five kilometers northeast of the Shanghai city center. In addition to products originally developed in China for students, the store will sell all of the approximately 2,000 products that KOKUYO Commerce handles in China, including KOKUYO products sold in Japan and other brands that KOKUYO Commerce handles for the Chinese market.
